Hardware & Accessories Overview

dorsaVi’s hardware consists of two movement sensors, two EMG (muscle activity) sensors, a recording and feedback device, and a charging dock. The movement sensors consist of a 3D accelerometer, a gyroscope, and magnetometer. This allows us to look at movement in three planes as well as measure force and impact.

When the sensors are collecting data, they transmit it wirelessly to the recording and feedback device or RFD. The recording and feedback device can collect data remotely for up to 24 hours or you can receive live data by connecting it directly to your computer.

The sensors are housed within their charging dock when not in use. To remove the sensors from the charging dock, simply place your finger on top of the button next to the sensor and press down to release.

It is important that the sensors remain in the charging dock when you're preparing them to go on to a client. Included in your kit from dorsaVi will also be a USB cable to connect the recording and feedback device to your computer as well as a skin marking pen, alcohol wipes, skin preparation pads, sensor application holders & stickers, and templates for placing the sensors accurately on your client.

Other accessories that might be included in your kit will be a headband for our neck assessment, an armband for a remote monitoring, a seatbelt for our hamstring test, and calf sleeves for our running test.
